Hello students,

I had a great time this school year teaching you more about technology. I hope you learned some valuable tools that you can take with you to other classes, your career and beyond. This was the first year of the our school being open and I appreciate your patience with the whole process. I will be finishing up all the grading this week (including make-up work) and you will receive your final grades soon.

Module 15 is due in its entirety by Wednesday, June 9th at 11pm. No late work will be accepted after this date and time.

I have added one assignment this week: Assignment 15-05 - DUE June 9th . We are continuing Module 15, which is the final project.

Hello students,

I noticed that most of you have not started on the final module. It is very important that you take this project seriously as its worth 100 points total and can affect your grade deeply. Take initiative and start the project and you will find that it has real world application and it is beneficial to your future. Do not wait till the last week and try to cram it in with all of your other classwork.

Hello students,

We are now embarking on the final project which is split into sections and will have assignments due each week until the end of the semester. Make sure you read Lesson 15-01 - FINAL PROJECT OUTLINE. This will give you the information you need to complete the project. Check back each week for the new assignments to further your project. We will also be taking a quiz on Quia the final week.

I have added 1 lesson and 2 assignments to complete this week: Lesson 15-01 - FINAL PROJECT OUTLINE, Assignment 15-01 - DUE May 23rd, Assignment 15-02 - DUE May 23rd . I hope you took advantage of this past testing week to make-up assignments. The past modules will be closed off for the rest of the semester as stated in last week's post. Hello students,

Star Testing is upon us for this week. Because, of this there will be no new assignments to complete this week. Make sure to try your hardest on the Star Testing. I know you will do just fine.

Also, I have opened all the modules for this semester. They will be opened for this week only. This will be the last time they will opened for this semester. Make sure you take advantage of this opportunity and turn in assignments that you have not completed. The past modules will be closed off completely by: Sunday, May 9th at 11pm.

Next week, we will be working on a new module and it will be be business as usual.

Hello students,

We had a good time at Big Hat Days this past weekend! I did notice that not one Technology student volunteered to be in our school booth. You got a second chance to earn some extra credit this upcoming weekend at Vintage Days at Fresno State. It is a fun experience to get to talk to people and give away free stuff. I am also giving our class a break on Daily Assignments this week (they will return next Monday). Most of you have done a great job turning them in. Hello Students,

I hope you are enjoying your day off for Lincoln's Birthday! I wanted to clarify a few things. First off, daily assignments are to be completed the same day that they are assigned. This is how us teachers keep track of your attendance in our courses. Please follow this direction as it will make it easier for everyone.

Also, for the second semester, modules will be closed off completely on certain dates. That means all work needs to be turned in by the date stated in the module. Also, keep track of when individual assignments are due to avoid late submission penalties.

I have added 2 new assignments this week: WINDOWS LIVE MESSENGER Participation Assignment and Product Review 2 - WINDOWS LIVE MESSENGER Assignment. I also added one new lesson:Lesson 3-01- Getting Started Resource We are starting Module 3 this week which is focused on Microsoft Powerpoint.

I wanted to brush on the topic of late work. Many students are handing in assignments late. This is not a good way to go about this class. Check due dates and make sure you complete assignments before the due date. Any late work gets 10% knocked off the total points. So, if the assignment is worth 20 points, you only get credit for 18 points. 10% of 20 is 2 points off. I will be taking the assignments off the Moodle in a reasonable amount of time after the due date. Only special cases will be considered after that.

Make sure to record all four for full points. There is only four days this week because of the Labor Day holiday.

Article/Blog Review 2 is an assignment created to gain your interest in our Technology forums. Make sure to complete this assignment this week. It is mandatory. The website to reference is Gizmodo. Make sure to reply to at least one other classmates' post to get full credit along with your own summary.

Assignment 1 - 02 Keyboarding Reflection Essay is where you will reflect on how keyboarding is an important skill to have. This will be a one-page paper, so you will need to go into detail.

All three assignments are due: Sunday, September 13th by midnight.

Hello 2009-10 Clovis Online Tech Students!

My name is Mr. Luke Shubin and I will be your Online Technology Teacher for this upcoming school year. I congratulate you on joining the Clovis Online School and being innovative. Innovation brings progress and that's what is needed to grow as a student and as a person. Technology itself is innovative also. So, you will be getting a double dose of innovation! We will be collaborators together on this online journey and your ideas are always welcome as comments, on blogs, on the Ning, etc. Let's welcome this challenge together.

Now, I will give you some background on myself. I graduated high school in 1997 from Walnut High school in L.A. County, CA. I then went on to college the next fall and graduated from Cal State Fullerton (in Orange County) in 2003 with a degree in communications/advertising. I went in the work force for a number of years doing graphic design/advertising. l learned many quality computer skills to help me be a productive worker. I recently got a technology credential through my experience and education, so I can teach this class. I'm also a present student at Fresno State working on getting a PE credential. Education can open the doors to many things.

Through this course, I wish for you as a student and collaborator learn as much about technology as possible. Technology has always been a growing subject and I hope your learning will not stop after this class. Keep current on technology trends and your life will be that much easier. Also, if there's any pointers you can give me, I will be more than happy to hear them.
